Sydney Paragliding was the first professional school in the Sydney area specialising in paragliding, and the longest running paragliding school in Australila. We are dedicated to the sport of paragliding and to looking after all your paragliding requirements now and into the future. We operate from the world famous Bald Hill, Stanwell Park, Australia’s best coastal flying site and just one hour south of Sydney.
Mark Mitsos is the Chief Flight Instructor of Sydney Paragliding. He has lived and flown in the area since 1984, has acquired extensive local knowledge and is the most experienced paragliding instructor in the Sydney area. Mark is fully certified by the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia and has more than 35 years practical and design experience in recreational flight.
Mark lived in Byron Bay and learnt to hang glide in 1978, he designed and built many hang gliders from 1980 to 1989…. He then learnt to paraglide in 1989 on the Isle of Wight whilst working for Airwave Gliders. He attained his HGFA Instructor Certificate in 1990 and has been teaching ever since… Mark started paramotoring in 2000 and now offers his extensive knowledge to those who wish to learn about this.
Mark pioneered the use of tandem paragliding instruction for accelerated training, enabling students to be up and flying sooner. Mark has also worked on many HGFA committees, helped establish paragliding in the Sydney area, country NSW and was the driving force behind the formation of the Sydney Paragliding Club, which is now the Sydney Paragliding and Hang Gliding Club…
